(link) (Pete M P-23) P-185 might be faster but I'm not an experienced racer like you. 2 - 3 footers slows my boat quite a bit when going upwind. Since the P-23 doesn't have swept back spreaders like mine, you can go dead downwind while I have to sail higher. If I make any mistakes, I'll pay for it dearly. In light winds, I sail circles around P-23s. The stronger the winds (20+), the more advantage you'll have if I sail alone. The choppier the seas, the better for you. However you're right I take over larger boats all the time on broadreach. Still undecided of which boat to bring... I'm sure many of you would like to see a P-185 but keep in mind I'll be just coming back from spending 8-12 days on it. I may want to take a break. Donnie
