I finally got out on Lake MacBride for the first time today....

Report: outside forum guidelines

After turning down the opportunity to go out on my first sail of the season yesterday in 25+ kt winds, I finally splashed today. This was over a month later than I got out last year. The wind started out very light, but eventually picked up enough such that I was even overpowered a few times with the main and genoa. It was good to be out again - very relaxing. I sailed by a pair of fisherman and one waved, saying "nice boat". It was a bit chilly, with a high in the low 60's, but I bundled up enough to be comfortable. Over the winter, I bought supplies to rig a soft traveler. It will be fun to have another toy with which to tweak the sail tune. With the winds changing velocity and direction frequently on the small lake, I will have lots of chances to tweak.

I plan to sneak out tomorrow afternoon for a few more hours on the water.

Now I am ready for my spinnaker duty, Rob.
