I print out 8x10 color charts and put them in a notebook that can be put in a zip lock bag. You put the charts in order and tear one out as you finish it. You can print back up charts as well in the event they get wet. I also add notes on my charts to highlight shallow water, marina's, ramps, restaurants, and safe harbors along the route. I add mile markers, and between the chart pages, I add google earth images as well. That gives me a good view of the route.
