In Response To: Cooler Step Teak Oil Question (Bill Little (Precision 18 #298))

Hello,

I never recoated the teak on my cooler, but instead applied pressure sensitive strips of high friction/traction 3M material. For me, it ain't about appearance, but as this cooler is used as a foot step, better to get some grip when it's wet. This material is available in most any hardware store. Any finish which is smooth and shiny will likely be slippery when wet. That's not good given the age of me and the effects of gravity.
