and some folks like to keep a boat for a long time. I suppose the is no completely "right" boat. Everything is a series of compromises from what one can afford to the spectrum of use one is trying to get out of a boat.

I think my decision to build the small boat fits me well. I always wanted to build a boat. But, size and use whether I built it or bought it is about having a small easy to set up by myself launch and retrieve on shallow ramps and trailer around to various lakes - a true gunkholer.

Meanwhile I also love the P-21, it is fun to sail and spry, but more hassle for me to trailer around and set up by myself.

If I get the chance (money and time) I might build a larger boat - probably a 22 foot Amigo from Glen-L - because I would like a tough little trailerable cruiser to solo sail on the Great Lakes in a couple years. At that time I would sell the P-21. If I am not up to building another, I would still try to buy a boat about that size and quality.
