fill with epoxy and redrill to size. Then caulk and bed. Overdrill 1/4 inch hole to 1/2 inch (be sure to tape or plug bottom) let epoxy set hard and redrill for 1/4 th".
BTW, you will not be able to reuse Precision installed bolts, machine screws or whatever they're called. They install longer than needed and then snap them off AFTER the nuts, washers etc have been installed.
When rebedding snug up but don't crank down on the bolt. Wait for the caulk to set a day then tighten it up. Actually it works best if you have a buddy to hold the bold from the top and tighten the nut against it. That way the threads aren't turning in the caulk.
Once everythings set hardened etc go back with chennel locks or somesuvch and grip the extended bold and rotate it (don't spin it) back and forth until it breaks. A time or two will do the job.
Sounds complicated but it's not. Easier to do that to write up. Just takes a couple days of drying time.
Rather than over drill other folks recommend bending a nail 90 degrees, chucking it in a drill and using it to grind out the wood core. Then proceeding as I've indicated.
It won't leak and when it does it won't satutate the core..... Cheers, Rick
