...here in Joisey. 60-70 degrees and sunny. I cleaned up leaves and was wistfully thinking that today would be a nice sailing day. Oh well.
I did get a little surprise though. As I was raking and thinking about anything but, I noticed some movement in the trees a little beyond where I was standing. A nice sized black bear (200 lbs. or so) was meandering about, not 30 yards from me. He had considerably less interest in me than I had in him, and he walked away, probably looking for some Jersey garbage. Last weekend it was a young four point buck looking for some doe action.
My brother-in-law lives in the Adirondacks and travels far and wide in hopes of bagging a buck or a bear. He looks at me funny when I tell these stories. We're only supposed to have wild Eye-talians around here I guess.
