And will probably work well. I don't like the non-skid deck in that area, nor attaching the chainplate to a part of the deck where water from the hatch area tends to drain. I think if I had a 23 I might be inclined to grind the area out and build it up just a bit, so the cover plate is sealing on a smooth surface instead of non-skid and so that water had to flow uphill a little to get to the chainplate from the deck.

Of course, if Precision just molded the boat that way to begin with...but that suggestion didn't get far.
