Yes, it's the pin that keeps the forestay turnbuckle from turning once it's been tightened to the correct tension. i'm not sure that it's a Johnson - it's what was on the boat originally. Would it say that somewhere?
I notice that Layline has a Johnson "Open Body" turnbuckle for the 5/32 wire which looks somewhat like mine, but not exactly. (Catalogue, p. 40) I plan to ask them if it's the same and if can just get a pin. Since it's only $29.70, maybe I should spring for the whole turnbuckle - it's sure to fit on my wire, I would think.
