First off John, Revere is where I lived(Point of Pines, learned to sail and boat, "Sea Scouts", Second the salt air killed my teeth mybe you should have gotten the medical deduction. I replaced my rudder core with marine plywood, after trying to stiffen it with 5/8" ss rods, which bent. New sails fixed the forces on the rudder as well as the heel. Now very really go over 35 deg. Have fun, watch the west. Last Sunday we I had a blow on the boat(boardside) at the slip for 35 hrs gust at 50, sustain 25 waves 3'. Took 3 lines stern and bow with snubbers to containe. Water washed over decks and me. Pulled anchoring post to 45 deg but no damage except small wettness inside. One shourd unscrewed and left mast bent to port about 10 deg. Tiller extention used to secure rudder in place bent and was free winding. Almost got blown off slip a couple of times. All this and Mother's day, everybody waiting till I return to eat. Mother Nature gives you the test first and the leasson afterwards.
