I went to Lake Texoma. This is a very large lake on the state line between Texas and Oklahoma, just south of Oklahoma City. It's a day-and-a-half drive from Denver. We were on the water for 10 days but the weather was so variable we mostly just day-sailed. The tornados hit Oklahoma city while we were there. The first marina resort we pulled into said it would cost $4 to launch and park my truck/camper for a week. So we sailed around and came back to the camper for shelter when necessary. Also, no fee to use a slip near the truck. Unbeatable! Full moon during one midnight sail--beautiful. I recommend the lake and Little Mineral Resort very highly.
