Wow, you must be one hell of a sailor or those are some pretty slow 9.1s
Having owned and raced a 6.9 and a 9.1 I find it very hard to imagine a 6.7 consistently beating a 9.1. The 9.1 owes you almost 70 seconds a mile, that is HUGE. I also find my 9.1 is much easier to sail to it's rating than my 6.9 was. On top of that larger faster boats have many tactical advantages over smaller slower ones. I am amazed if you can beat 9.1's boat for boat.
When I raced the 6.9 I could almost never beat even the slowest J24 boat for boat (J24's tend to be very well sailed in this area), even with lots of luck it almost never happened. Now even with horrible eforts -- like last week's shrimping the spinnaker -- we never ever finish behind a J24. They may correct in front of us but never beat us.
