Any good sailmaker can make a mainsail cover for our boats. Just work with them and make sure they have the right dimensions.

There are at least 4-5 methods of handling head sails after sailing.

1. Take them off and roll them to avoid any folds or wrinkles. Store them in a long bag down below or away from heat. This method -- used by most OD dighy racing sailors -- preserves a sail with longest life.

2. Take them off and flake them in the map fold fashion using the same folds. This probably helps the sail last next longer to #1.

3. Roller furl them. (Should have a UV-proof cover to protect against degradation from the sun.) There are some roller furlers designed just for this purpose -- they don't let you reef -- and they're cheaper than the kind that do.

4. Take them off and stuff them into a bag without folding. This shortens the life of the sail most quickly.

5. Variation of #4 -- stuff them in a head sail bag.

You choose whichever poison you're most comfortable living with.
