First, I think using an electric motor to raise or lower our LK is illegal for racing under current USSA rules. So any modification by adding a motor, etc., would have to be removed for racing.

You have a 6.7 and IMO the 6.7's geared winch would be much easier to adapt to power than the 6.9's block and tackle system would be.

Steve Wesson (TX), a former 6.7 owner, said he'd used a large cordless drill to do that on his and that it worked okay.

I don't know what size drill he used -- I have 14.4v DeWalt and tried it on my 6.7. It could lower the LK but it sure couldn't raise it. Maybe an 18v drill could do it? Or maybe sometime they'll come out with much more powerful drills -- maybe a 24v or higher -- that can.

A portable drill with a simple adapter driver bit might be the best way to go for a 6.7. Then you could always use the manual crank if you ever lost battery battery -- which would be bound to occur sometime. I suspect those snap-in battery packs would only be able to manage about one raising of the LK before being depleted IF you could find one capable of doing it.
