6.9 Helm Minder

Report: outside forum guidelines

Besides a pair of bungees, has anyone invented a "neat" way to keep the tiller midships whilst sailing singlehanded so that one can leave the helm for a very brief period for important tasks like jib sheet lead adjustments or getting a beer?

And, yes, I know that doing such a thing entails some small risk that the last thing the singlehander might see - from water level - is the boat sailing itself away into the sunset.

Thanks.

Steve
