Law, thanks for your response.
Jimmy and I had a free weekend and wanted to sail with a bunch of different sailors. The experience was great. sorry we couldn't make the trip to Indiana but we had a regatta here that weekend. I encourage everyone to take there boat somewhere. I believe you become complacent sailing with the same group. We drove 17 hours to Pelican. It opened our eyes to the thrill of traveling with Dagnabit. Jimmy is already talking about buying an RV. Wether you end up a Hero or a zero at these regattas you will come home a better sailor.
Lifelines: Dagnabit is a 1980 6.7 Sail number 006 and it's 150 has probably been around as long. The sail buries into the spreaders way before the lifelines. So I'll keep my lifelines with funny noodles on them. I've been banned from discussing that four letter word that starts with P.
Alright my thoughts on the P thing. Generally #s should be divisable by three. I don't agree with a fixed number for the spinnaker advantage. As you stated the courses you run do not give the spinnaker a great advantage, where a windward leeward course would. Realistically spinnaker boats should not be racing JAM. But to keep everyone happy we mix them up from time to time. The advantage of the Spin. is 6 to 21 seconds, depending on conditions and course. So my rating of 207 could move down to 201 or as low as 181 as the committee saw fit. It's late so I have to quit now.
