I bought a Sears 9.2V drill off the Sears internet site for $99 plus $5 tax. The store wanted $119 plus tax. I did not pay shipping because I picked it up at my local Sears store. There is a rebate in the form of a free third 9V battery that is worth about $40.
It came with two rechargeable batteries, charger and a powerful 9.2V flashlight. Sears on line won't sell just the drill, charger and batteries.
Using a cut off 3/8 allen wrench as a bit I stuck it into the winch and the LK came up in about 30 seconds. I didn't have to use full throttle to raise it. I raised and lowered it twice and there was still juice left in the battery. It puts out alot of torque so you have to hang on tight or the drill will spin around the winch with enough force to do some damage. You wouldn't want to hand it to a 10 year old kid and tell her to have at it.
There is an optimum torque and throttle setting that I need to discover to minimize the battery drain and strain on the motor. Although it took some muscle to handle and it is noisy, I liked it. I intend to use it for daysailing. It also is a great drill.
