Report: outside forum guidelines

Does anyone have a thought about using UHMW plastic as a bushing in the keel? I'd think it would provide lots of bearing surface to pivot on.
The UHMW plastic can be mail ordered from US Plastic in Ohio. Being the bar is about 1" diam., ordering 1' section of a 1" ID x 1-1/2" OD would cost about $10.00 plus shipping.
