After reading all of the posts relating to the pin and keeping it in place, I tend to think that the swing keel in the down position is supported by the trunk and the looseness of the pin is irrelevant. If you leave your board down and wet sail your boat, you will eventually wear something out. I always leave the board secured in the up position when at anchor and dry sail the boat except when overnighting on it (75 days in the last 2 years). I looked at my pin ant it is secure and the board has about an eighth to a quarter inch of slop.
