Do I really want a Santana 2023?

I'm a San Juan 24 sailor who's been looking for a boat with a retractable/swing keel. I just found a '92 3023A in pretty good condition (except for minor gelcoat work and needing sails). Can anyone tell me how she sails?
The SJ24 is a great upwind boat, but the old IOR body style makes it a bit unwieldy downwind. How about the Santana?
This will be a New York Fingerlakes boat for the most part, with some sojourns to Lake Ontario perhaps.
