S-21 Main Sheet Rigging

Just a thought for all you Santana 21 owners...

With the original main sheet rigging and a 10HP Johnson mounted on the starboard transom, I had to lean over while motoring because the sheet went right up my back on it's way to the boom.

I noticed the Catalina 22 had a double block at the aft end of the boom and a fiddle block with cam cleat attached to a transom mounted traveler. This gives them a 4:1 purchase on the main and plenty of room in the cockpit.

I used some cable to make a yoke over the tiller and under the back stay, attached the Catalina 22 style rigging and I'm in business. I've been out a number of times and really like it.

I've had to forgo the traveler with this setup, but I'm not really into racing anyway.

Incidently, does anyone use a spinnaker on the S21? If so, do you know where I should get one? How are they sized? Symetrical or asymetrical?
