My trailer hasn't been modified, unless that someone also went to the trouble of having a factory re-paint job. I shall call them 'risers'. The four 'risers' come straight up, vertical, oh, maybe eight (8) inches. They terminate in their same flatness. Straight down shot, you'd see 3" wide by 3/8ths thick. Then I have these 'L' shaped brackets. They bolt to the riser, then I use lag bolts up through them into the bed wood. That part of the flat face that bolts to the 'riser' is slotted, so I can raise/lower/adjust the beds at all four points about 2". I take it yours doesn't adjust?
As an aside... I rebuilt my beds (recalled your story from a year or so back). Used single planks, but put a block on 2X6 under the rear attachments. Wow! Does that 1.5" back there really ADD to the height of the transom when on land!
Anyway, loaded, 'Sushi' now has a very gradual and mild 'down' angle proceeding forward towards the bow. Towed home last night rather nicely, but not sure how much of that was the new tires.
