Modification for creating larger berth

Report: outside forum guidelines

Does anyone know of a good way to create a larger berth in the cabin of a 2023 C? Ideas from other sailboats would be welcome as well.

The v-berth is just too cramped to get a good nights sleep. The side bunks are too cramped as well.

I would like to make a double sized bed by adding additional plywood planks in the main salon of the cabin, which would be fitted between the port and starboard cabin seats. The goal is to make it comfortable for two. I am especially concerned about making it easy to set-up and stow.

Has anyone figured out a way to make the supports, attachments, etc for the boards. Also need to determine how big to make the plywood planks, how many pieces, and whether to run them parallel to the seats or perpendicular to them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul
