The main reason for creating the fiberglass rectangular piece was to get rid of the slop without having to remove the pin or do any epoxying. Also, because the piece is large, it cuts down on the slop when the centerboard is raised as well as when it is lowered for sailing. The piece simply slides in above it. I spent a lot of time making measurements to ensure that the piece would not be able to slip out. I will look for the pattern I made and post the dimensions.
