Companionway

Does anybody with the C model worry about the height, or lack of it, from the cockpit floor to the "threshold" for the companionway? In pictures of the A model it looks like it's at seat level. On my 94 C it's only an inch or so higher than the transom. That would mean that if you were to get "pooped" somehow just as much water would run into the cabin as back out over the transom.
