I use a jib furler now. When I hanked on the jib; the halyard pulled the jib up the forestay, but as the jib approached the halyard block the angular difference put a strain on the forstay. It was never a problem, but it just didn't seem right. In fact it prompted me to go to the furler. Thanks for the info. Smooth sailing! David.
