For camping, I have found that all the extra cabin space you can get is important. I have heard many 2023 A and R owners say they wished they had a C for their overnight cruising. The 2023 C was the smallest trailerable sailboat I could find that was suitable for both camping and suitable boat handling.

When I say "suitable for camping", I mean I would not go any smaller in cabin space at all. However, some people are perfectly o.k. with limited space, so having more room is just my personal preference.

When I say "suitable boat handling", I mean it responds well both upwind and downwind - and is fast.

I think the choice really comes down to whether you are a cruiser or a racer at heart.

I am a cruiser, and, more importantly (at least in regard to what my wife is willing to let me spend on sailboat toys and upgrades), so is my wife She's o.k. with spending money on making the boat more comfortable, but shudders at the cost of making it faster!

I agree with Paul, it's what you're wanting. -- Gary, 2023, Milwaukee -- 9/25/07 7:46a.m.
