I had my C out this weekend in 25+ with some gusts that I know were in the upper 30's and everything went well till the main, which I had reefed to the first batten, started to rip along the foot when going upwind so I had to quit. The boat performed very predictably and does get stiff when the rail gets near the water and even if you put it under it will hold very well. I'm sure you know that sailing in the waters you do. I do think the boat needs a backstay to both tighen up the foresaty in conditions like that and when running downwind wing and wing when the jib (110) would collapse and pop full the mast did buck allot so I furled allot in to keep it from pumping so much. In my manual on page 3 under "WARNING!" it states that you can "break it" and in chapter V section A: Operating Limitations it states not to operate it under sail or motor if winds exceed 25, current above 5 knots, swells exceed 6'... I know it's lawyer talk and it's not the boats limits. On the other hand it's not made to be an offshore, ocean crossing vessel but it could under correct conditions but not by me. I do love my 2023 and would not trade it for anything else in it's class. Bob Frak S/V Alegira
