Found this on the Mackinac run. While swimming... let me re-start.
For those (if anyone) interested in my 'oft discussed modified WB tank... of which, far as is known is the only 2023 ever modified this way... my boat drains from 'somewhere' from the CB trunk. As mentioned before, I've never seen these hole(s).
Anyway, while swimming, CB down, I swam under and ran my fingers as deep (i.e. 'up') on each side of the CB trunk as I could. Obviously, due to the CB, I could only reach maybe 4-5 inches. I found nothing, which suprised me, as common sense would mandate having the drain holes as close to the inside bottom as possible, most likely flush with the hull.
After thinking about it, I then ran my hand FORWARD of the CB. Reached up into the trunk, and awkwardly bent my hand forward against the very front of the CB trunk. BINGO!
Feels like a rectangular cut, taller than it is wide, running from the floor of the tank to most of the way to the top of the CB forward 'bulkhead'. Not sure of it's size, but large, which obviously explains why the entire tank can be drained in what seems like 90 seconds flat. And placed in the most advantageous spot for drainage (some may recall my suprise that there was never any 'residual' water held in the tank.... but that was when I was thingking it was holes cut in along each SIDE of the trunk). Forward most is lowest, which is why no residual.
Anyway, the reason why your above post reminded me of this, is because when I reached into this hole with my finger tips, I felt... something... that was free floating, or rather, free DRIFTING up against this drain slot. It was under the water, seeing as it was on the bottom of the tank and, when I attempted to touch it with my finger tips it would simply drift away, then return towards this slot.
Fist sized, or larger, can't figure out what the modifier would have simply left (or tossed into) the bottom of the tank. Perhaps it's that valve 'hump' that Sushi doesn't have.
I know, just a meaningless FYI.
