as I contimue to 'war' with the idea of getting one or not. As stated (long windedly) in prior posts, my major concern is how much it might be 'in the way'. With yours mounted in the forward cockpit, I assume that, should you wish to close it, then you'd simply fold it forward, leaving it collapsed over the companionway? As is, although I've done a search of the archives (and as I've mentioned to you in email) I cannot find any pics of a bimini mounted on the 2023. Perhaps I'm 'thinking' about it to much? I mean, maybe it will be in the way but, once I got used to it, perhaps it would then never seem cumbersome to me?
As such, I really appreciate these latest comments from you on it, as it is a good justification on how well you like it. And, truth be told, I was thinking of a much larger one in length, say 8'. And at that size, it just seems cumbersome. However, I like what you say as, with the shorter one, it'd take up less space, not to mention that when at anchor, no wind, simply sit UNDER it in the forward part of the cockpit.
I guess that, if I do decide to do this, that I would want it to project forward, and 'over' the companionway some distance to assist in keeping the elements out of the cabin when it's raining.
Peter, did you go with a six (6) foot long bimini? And, last question (at least for now) did the Overton bimini come with the MOUNTS, or did you have to purchase them seperately?
