waterline to prop measurement

Report: outside forum guidelines

I just measured my outboard length. I have a 9 hp Honda with long shaft for sailing. The depth from the water's surface to the center of the prop is 12 inches. The distance from the top of the transom (or the underside of C clamp) to the center of the prop is 30 inches.

The longer length of the 9 hp Honda explains why I am not experiencing prop cavitation.
