Not so sure I'd fill my tank while on land.

In Response To: Grrr...photos of centerboard lifting line/leak repair wanted, etc. (Paul Germain, 2023 C)

Certainly not for any extended period, as I'd wonder about undue stress (from weight) pulling right on the (you guessed it!) air chamber bulkhead seal! Anyway, if memory serves me right, I believe that Seth had some pics of this spot leaking on his 'C'.

WHICH CAUSES ME TO ASK: why have I never heard of this spot (i.e. CB lifting line) leaking on any model except the 'C'? Is it because of the different cabin layout? More acute angle on the line?

On my 'A', the line rises just behind the 'stairwell', visible through a transparent hose, exiting into the cockpit. For fun, heavy seas, you can watch the water in the tube rise and lower.

Anyway, if not Seth, somebody does have pics of this line slwly chaffing it's way through the trunk, allowing water to enter the air chamber.

And a couple more weeks, this board'll be dead, as we'll all be out sailing!
