What truly shocks me is that someone went to some serious thought, and considerable time, in DESIGNING something like this. Never done before, why would you even consider doing it? Hell, the idea of this would have never even crossed my mind, even if I'd owned the boat 50 years. I mean, I'm almost staggered just contemplating it all. Obviously, someone REALLY wanted that valve 'hump' removed from the cabin sole, you know? But still, I cannot conceive of anyone doing/paying for these WB mods just for the removal of the hump. No matter which way I approach it, in thinking, it all boils down to the fact that these mods were well thought out over TIME, well in advance, and then done when the shop opened up the WB tank to do the tank. An 'all-in-one-shot' type thing.
'Course, I'm still trying to track down someone local with a borescope. Knowing the tank is done is one thing, but seeing it visually, myself, is another.
As for the CB pin... yeah, maybe for the short term, but she's going to eventually have to come out. I can already see some slight 'ovalling' to one spot (the top, deployed edge) of the CB hole. Certainly cannot imagine trying to do a 'stuff and fill' from underneath, with the CB still mounted. 'Course, I could always fabricate a 'backing plate' for each side, coat the pin with vasaline or some such best I can, then fill in with some chopped glass. Designed right, I should be able to get it done.
Hmm... come to think of it, maybe that would be a whole lot easier, than ripping the pin out. Just wish I could get you guys a better pic, as it's very well done water valve. Hope I at least conveyed appropriately how it was designed/built?
