In Response To: David, I assume the replacement mast search went well? (nm) (Gary, Santana 2023A, Milwaukee)

Gary,

Yep, found a mast. It's hanging on from my backyard fence as we speak. Patiently awaiting fair weather for a light sanding and fresh paint. I prefer the anodized look, but the previous owner thought brown was nice (?). I can't get the brown off without messing up the anodizing, so white it will be.

Looks like I'll be learning a bit about standing rigging and tuneing in the near future as well. I'm using the original stays and lowers and the uppers from the boat the mast came from. You can bet they'll get a good inspection first.

From the sound of it, you're ok in the rudder department. Glad you made it back ok.

Maybe one of these days I'll show up at your doorstep (dock), but I think I need a lot more experience and maybe a good GPS.

Till then, Good Sailing!
