Certainly can't be more than that. Come to think of it, only 160 miles round trip? Magnetic compass works just fine. Plan it so that you're half way across the lake early morning, that way you can just follow the 'lume. Spot the antenna arrays, head just a point south of them. Only trick is to make sure there's no untoward weather coming, as it's a l-o-n-g haul when you're doing it in 10' waves! Hey, if you're not careful, hell, you might have your rudder rip off, or something! LOL's!
Got a beefed steel rudder assembly to finish last season. Got a better one, again beefed up steel in the works. I'm going to have the thing hot dipped in zinc. I did manage to pick up the SS to build one, but you know, I've had an fickle Lake Michigan rip my rudder off two times now, and the SS cheekplates are not as sturdy as the plate steel I picked up.
So come across any time. I'll make sure I look you up next time I'm headed your way.
