Thanks, but I went to West Marine and got what I needed.

I am interested in what you did when you "made your mast".

I got a used mast that I will have to trim about 2" off the bottom end. The previous owner went crazy with a Black & Decker. I will sand, prime and paint it white. The previous owner thought brown was nice (?) and I can't get the brown off without screwing up the anodizing.

Since the mast is going to be 2" short all the standing rig will have to be adjusted accordingly. Somebody mentioned I could increase the height of the tabernacle to compensate. Any ideas? Ought to be fun, but I see a "learning curve" up ahead.
