Thanks to whomever it was who suggested the Ultra Poly coating system. I check out the web site & Alan (the Q/AA man) was forthcoming w/ my questions Here is a asnswer I had about covering the tank & tank flexing using the Ultra Poly coat product.
"Ultra Poly One Coat has been used for that purpose, but it is not covered by a warranty. If the wood is dry, it should work better than most anything else. For more information go to: www.polysolutionsinc.com or www.askalanaquestion.com/ultra_poly_one_coat.htm
Fix A Leak might be able to seal a leak, provided that the wood can dry out completely. That would require filling with water, adding the product, allowing the leak to stop, draining and allowing the tank to completely dry out. Unless the product dries out, in the leak zone, it won't make a long lasting seal. For more information go to: www.fixaleak.com or www.alanaquestion.com/the_fix_a_leak_store.htm"
At a recent trade show, I saw a sample of heavy kraft paper, coated with the material and used as color swatch samples. It looked like ceramic, but was very flexible. This material was used in industrial tanks, before being used in the pool industry. Pools were an after thought, evidently.
Good luck,
Alan
