I cut mine so that it is contoured to fit the mast (though not necessary) and cut off the “spout” to be flush with the boom spindle post (?). It has a bungee cord that goes around the mast and is tied (hole through funnel with bungee knotted) to each side of the funnel. I can simply pull it out and up or down to get access to the post for furling, etc.
