Sorry to hear the news. Dig around the web for repairing rotten wood. Rot's a fungus that doesn't quit if you just cover over it(if that's what you mean by covering in thin ply). It needs to be sealed off from air and moisture. To choke the very life blood out of the !!!!****. I hate rot! Take my word I owned and sailed a 30' ply/west system cutter for 20 years and fixed allot of rot but NEVER twice. Clean it, saturate it and glass over it with epoxy and cloth. I REALLY would encourage you to do it now NOT in the fall. It's had all winter to loose it moisture. In the fall the wood will be saturated with a seasons worth of use. The weather sucks anyway for the next 2 weeks. Good luck, I'll be joining you in a few weeks when I can get mine out of the snow bank. Bob
