(Gary, Santana 2023A, Milwaukee) Gary, If you are going to do something about the mast compression post, consider using some sort of composite rather than wood. I think you can buy stock that would have not risk of rotting. Tom (Harrison?) made his own. There are lots of pictures (including the one below) at Tom's site: http://flickr.com/photos/tomicles/collections/72157600426295300/ I wouldn't use treated wood and I wouldn't put a layer of anything but epoxy and glass on the bulkheads.
