Far more than I will have to do, but much of the basic grunt work the same. I see where he glassed the entire under-sole, good on him! Also glassed the baffle support, support plate, etc. Great. Looks like he built up about a 5-6" glass layer atop his compression plate, also fab'd own compression post. Wow. One thing I could not really tell, was if he glassed the inside HULL. I know some have done it, or at least covered the hull. I've no idea as to why, though. Had simply thought bringing the glass 4-5" from blkhds onto the 'flat' of the hull would suffice. Still do, can't see any reason do the entire hull, as it's already all glass. ??????????
Still, I think I'll go the route of Rudy, and remove the entire sole. What I can't quite figure out is how did Rudy seal his centerline sole? I mean, he used TWO pieces of plywood, lengthwise, 'seam' meeting and traversing the CB trunk. I'll have to email him and ask if he simply 'attached at the trunk via 3M 5200 on each edge and, when dried, simply filled with resin.
What a pain. Still, well worth it, as I truly can't see another trailersailor out there with all these (for me) like-able options, especially at a (dry) towing weight of only 3/4's of a ton.
How many layers of resin only (no hardener) did you say you treated your wood with, prior to the mixed resin and glass work?
