This is a close up of the rear bulkhead before I closed it up. Can you imagine my surprise and dismay that it is still leaking into the rear air chamber? I envy your dry air chamber and wonder how they did it if they didn't treat your bulkead.
You may be able to see a couple of the holes I drilled for the SS machine screws I used to secure the aluminum backup strips I used, all that and the seam was filled with epoxy on reassembly.
My rear bulkhead was definitely the softest wood on the boat. I think the PO kept the bow raised so the cockpit would drain, but this let water stand against the rear bulkhead for long periods. I let a couple of coats of epoxy (unthickened but with hardner!) soak into the dry wood before applying glass; then several more coats with the barrier coat additive over that.
