Good thought, bad practise: resin gone bad in the 2023 WB tank

Here's a semi-blind shot of my lower support plate. Notice the putrid looking wood (that's hard as iron, by the way). Of special interest, note the roughly 40 degree riser 'plate' of resin, bottom, right. It is actually the horizontal top 'coat' of resin over the plate that has pulled away from the plate. Pretty wierd, actually. I can understand expansion/contraction, but not why it would contract back on itself like this. This is, at best, serious glass work, if not total replacement.
