Yes, my plate is exposed. When I wrote abiout the "putrid" looking wood (but hard as iron) I thought there was more of it visible. Sorry. As to the epoxy, of course you describe it correctly. What I just don't understand, is, if cured, why would it's tensile strength re-shape at that angle? I had thought the epoxy would remain its shape, but here, were I to remove the plate, this epoxy would still be sticking up in the air. THAT is what I do not understand. Yes, the wood (plate) is wet, with one corner seam visible showing where even the glass itself has split. Should prove entertaining, building or replacing, eh?
I am not going to split my sole down then trunk line, as Rudy apparently did. Would like to make the largest cut I can, while still being able to remove it from the cabin in one piece. Wish I knwe what those dimensions were, but I'm not math wiz enough to factor the angle.
Seth, how wide was your sole cut? When you took it out, could it have been WIDER? If so, HOW much wider?
