One of which is that, that piece of foam depicted above will be far softer than a, say, 3/16" bead of 5200 along the cleats 90 degree angles. And that'll be easier, not to mention faster, than filleting same with thickened epoxy.

Still, I am appalled that West Marine (local) wants almost a $100 for a single gallon of resin. That seems way out of line, 'tho if the market will bare it...
