Greetings I haven't had my board out or opened my floor yet but to those that have do you think the pin bears the load of the board or does it load against the trunk? Like in Tom's picture above, does the board ride in the position of the break through. Did it possibly wear through the trunk and when it broke the trunk wall itloaded the screw for the pin it pulled it out of the hull? Tom,did someone really "fix" it with bondo just from the outside? When you fixed it did you look at the port side of the trunk to see if the board surface was worn significantly? We're lucky in a way that in most boats if the board broke through the trunk your sort of "sunk" or at least floating to the gunnels. It may just be a "duh" block for me but I can't get my brain to think that two wood screws in a block of wood doo so much. Bob

Hmm, I didn't realize there was a small amount of glass attaching sole to trunk. -- Gary, Santana 2023A, Milwaukee -- 4/16/08 11:11a.m.
