In Response To: What I wonder? (Bob Frak)

From what I've remember from my talks a several years back, the Santana 2023 A's and C's were designed for maximum quality, but due to competition they had to scrimp on a few things for the final product. (As we have found out about already.)

Looking at Tom's keel pin fix, (very good BTW), you should attach a patch of steel on the bottom of the hull, fasten a strong grounding strap to the mast support, and come up with a lightening protected boat! (I'm always looking for multiple uses for things!)
