Glen,

Ah..your explanation pretty much clinches it. What I saw as back bend to the mast is what you're describing as "the forward central area" projecting forward. I'm going set up some aft lower shrouds. Though the Santana 21 guide says they should be attached to the deck 1 foot aft of the existing chainplates. That locates the attachment on the front of jib sheet fairlead track. If you could share with me the location of yours?

Also, the tuning guide I refer to is in the Sanatana 21 guide that came with my boat. i believe it is the reference manual that is still available from Schock. Basically a compilation of the old Sanatana 21 associations notes on the boat.

Thanks for the thoughts about the possible flexing of the hull on the trailer as opposed to on the water. It had not even occurred to me that this might be happening. makes perfect sense though.
