I spent most of the afternoon yesterday taping, and this afternoon painting the interior. If I can finnish the paint job tomorow, I'll pull the keel this weekend. It looks a lot better already. Forcast is for rain tomorow.

Was there a big difference in the interiors of these boats from the yard? Mine is all wood, no glass other than the hull inside. Nothing but lockers on the starboard side. I have seen photos of a much different starboard interior.

This is more of general question about fiberglass boats. There is a large portion of the hull not painted on the inside. Is this to allow the glass to breath, and help prevent blisters? I haveno plans to paint this area, but was wondering if this is the case.

Other progress:

I have managed to save the grabrails. Teak is amazing wood. I was sure that I would have to replace them. They are not in the best condition, but will last another year or two.

The compression post is one piece again. It had delaminated. I used epoxy, and lots of clamps to put the two pieces back together.

All interior wood has been refinnished. The locker tops (doors) were stained and then got several coats of polyurethane. The rest of the locker tops are getting paint. This is due to my not so great carpentry skills. Also the plywood was thicker when the boat was built than it is now. I ended up filling a small area in, after replacing some dry rotted wood. The contrast should look good.

I had new companion way slides built. The old teak was rotten on these. It crumbled when I removed it.

The main should be here in about three weeks. I just hope I can get the boat back together by then. The pace of work so far has been much slower than I would like. Still I am sure the results will be worth the effort.
