Forestay Hound

OK, my project pales by comparison to Gary's but my tank time is coming also. If you remember my bent 5/16' forestay fitting bolt from last fall, I fixed it today. I know some of you have put a sleeve over the bolt but I chose to install a hound. The hound came from Rig Rite part # K405 47 @ $69.00 ($40 over what I thought it was worth but....) I had to squeeze it together slightly but it fit the profile almost perfectly. I first marked the mast where the original tang hole was for the forestay. Then I positioned the hound so I could use the original through holes. Used a screwdriver on each side through the 5/16" holes to pull it down into position. Then pop riveted it from the tang end to the through hole, alternating from side to side. Then I had to drill out the hole slightly, 1/3 of the original was covered. Then I shortened and drilled the original tang to position the hole for the roller furler in the original position. Bob Frak S/Y Alegira
